Breton Cassette proudly present 012 by JOSEPH HELLAND

012 is a result of Joseph Geir Hellands work with keyboard compositions and improvised monologues. Through the gesture of drawing Helland conjures an improvised narration, letting the listener in on a walk through dreams and memories. The cassette has no apparent beginning nor end, but like an Ouroboros it returns to the memory again and again.
Joseph Geir Helland is a visual artist educated at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and Oslo National Academy of the Arts. His work revolves around storytelling and architecture, with use of sculpture, sound, drawing, assemblage and the occasional animal.

012 er et resultat av Joseph Geir Helland sitt arbeid med komposisjoner av musikk og improvisert tale. Gjennom tegning maner Helland fram et improvisert narrativ, som inviterer lytteren med på en vandring gjennom drømmer og minner. Kassetten har ingen åpenbar begynnelse eller slutt, like en Ouroboros returner den til minnet igjen og igjen.

Joseph Geir Helland er billedkunstner med utdannelse fra Kunst- og designhøgskolen i Bergen, og Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Arbeidet hans kretser rundt historiefortelling og arkitektur, med bruk av skulptur, lyd, tegning, assemblage og et dyr i ny og ne.
